Borrisokane 2012

The brief for this project was deliver a design that was a simple and austere 5 bay period style dwelling that incorporated some characteristic period features of the large country house i.e Palladian window, and front door with fanlight and 3 point Arch.

The proposed design uses traditional wet dash render, with the central bay of stonework to accent the entrance, and the palladian window above.

The windows have been design to be as consistent with the period style as possible in terms of their dimensions and proportions.

We have adhered to a traditional palette of materials; Local stone, wet dash render, Natural slate Roofs, and traditional sliding sash timber windows.

The dramatic entrance stairwell will be strong feature internally, and has a characteristic curve to the lower half.

The house is constructed as a cavity wall build with full fill xtratherm insulation.

The dwelling is A2 rated is due for completion in Aug 2014.
