Powells pub 2010

This project involved the design of a high specification glazed sunroom to the rear of an existing public house.

This structure also had to have the ability to function as a fully compliant smoking structure when required.

The proposal employing the use of folding glazed screens to ensure the compliance with the tobacco legislation, in addition to allowing for the interaction with the courtyard to the rear of the pub.

The existing public house is a protected structure, so the design of the extension has been based on the traditional Victorian orangeries which would have been attached to the large country houses.

The proposal was granted planning in 2010, and constructed in 2011.
