Ballycasey 2008

We were engaged on this project to address a site which had been refused planning permission due to an inadequate design solution for the site. The site was quite challenging due to its unusual shape and to its relationship to an existing housing estate, and the roads which bound the site on 3 sides. The proposal involved designing a bespoke solution for 8 apartments which responded in a positive way to the site constraints. The block is rectilinear in nature and is laid out to facilitate dual aspect apartments which maximise passive solar gain. The revised proposal was granted planning permission in 2009.
