Urra 2009

The proposed dwelling is a single storey dwelling, Articulated into different elements in order to reduce the scale of the proposal.
The group of forms mimics the smaller scale of agricultural and residential traditional homesteads.

The dwelling design uses traditional render, and areas of stonework will be constructed in dry-stone walls in order to provide a variation in the masonry materials used on the dwelling.

The south facade of the dwelling is opened up to allow for passive solar gain, and also the introduction of an array of solar panels provides the supplementary heating for the dwellings hot water.

A simple palette of materials; Local stone, Render, cedar cladding, Traditional Slate Roofs, and timber windows.

The house received planning permission in 2010.
