This project involved the extension of an existing house.

The existing house is a 1990s dormer, located within a woodland context and bounding the shores of Lough Derg.

The design proposal was devised as a cedar clad form which contrasted with the existing house.

There had been a single storey garage attached to the rear of the dwelling, which was retained and the new extension was constructed over it to help resolve some of the negative space created between the garage and the house.

The extension was completed in 2011.
